I just wanted to send a personal thank you for allowing us to share so many excellent memories in our Nation's Capitol. Without your support as a community this trip would not be as successful. I hope that this has a indeed been a good experience.
As I look back on this year's trip I honestly think it was one of the best trips yet. So many additions like FBI experience and Pamplin Park were a huge success and the students seemed to love them. Students got personal tours from Sen. Toomey's office staff of the U.S. Capitol, experienced the Holocaust Museum, and got to visit most memorials and museums that DC has to offer. I/we truly hope they had a great experience.
With all of that being said, we always will have some "challenges" with a group of our size. We try to avoid them and also deal with them quickly and effectively. Later this week we as a staff will ask all parents and students who attended to participate in a DC 2019 survey. This survey will be really important to us as a staff to plan next year....yes next year is already in the process of planning and dates have already been set. LOL. Details for next year's trip, for anyone asking, will hopefully be available by mid April.
I would ask any parents who have suggestions and did not attend the trip to please email me directly at [email protected] to let me know what our team could do to improve this trip. Mainly looking for suggestions in communication that would help those of you that don't attend. I may send out a google form but individual email can also help me.
One last favor, please feel free to share your experiences in our community, good or bad. The best way for our trip to be successful is for you to let our community know what this trip is. I personally believe that it is a great trip but I am biased. I'll let you as parents to judge the trip overall.
Again, I hope everyone had fun and were exhausted when they got home. Maybe they'll sleep most of the day so they are ready for a new week of learning. Have a great Sunday!
Mr. Sams
